Years 7 and 8
The students in Years 7 and 8 will follow the Pearson Second edition Core programme. The students are currently taught in ability groups, set using their Key Stage 2 scaled scores. Sparx Maths accompanies the course and allows parents to support at home. Parents can find the content outlined on their child's Knowledge Organiser.
Every student will cover 10 units, and these are tested after each unit and in an End of Year exam. The course textbook, available through Active Learn provides support for this in the check-up, strengthen and extend sections at the end of each unit. To help students prepare thoroughly for their end of unit tests, there is also one to complete after each unit in this textbook. Teachers will also provide support materials and depth materials to enable students to fulfil their potential depending upon the ability of individual students.
Assessment Details
Complete the work to the best of their ability, follow up at home using their workbook and perform well in all test situations.
