My Child At School App (MCAS)

What is MCAS?

My Child At School (MCAS) is an online portal by a company called Bromcom, for parents, that enables them to view their child’s performance at school in real-time via the MCAS app or a web browser.

The facility allows the child’s attendance, grades, assessment, exams, timetable, reward and conduct, report, to be accessed whenever the parent/carer wants, 24/7. As well as pupil performance data, the portal also provides general information about the school.

Self Sign-Up Guide

Signing up without a registration email

STEP 1:

You can access the Parent Login screen in two ways:

  1. Visit https://www.mychildatschool.com/MCAS/MCSParentLogin on a web browser to open the Parent Login screen. 
  2. Download the MyChildAtSchool mobile phone app from the app store.

STEP 2:

On the Parent Login screen, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Sign-Up link on the Parent Login screen.
  2. Enter the school’s Postcode or School ID 15566.
  3. Select the school from the list in the dropdown.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Enter the email address you have registered with the school (if your email address isn’t recognised, please contact the school office).
  6. Click Sign Up.

Once you’ve completed the Sign-Up process, you will see this message: ‘To complete your registration, we have emailed the email address you provided. Please access your email and follow the steps to 'create your password’.

STEP 3:

You will then receive an email from MyChildAtSchool with a link to a one-time passcode. Follow these steps:

  1. Click on the link for the one-time passcode.
  2. Enter the one-time passcode.
  3. Click Verify.

STEP 4:

Once the one-time passcode has been verified, you will be prompted to enter a password:

  1. Enter Password.
  2. Confirm Password (by re-entering the same Password).
  3. Click Create Password.

STEP 5:

Once you have created a password, you can log into your MCAS account via the app or by visiting www.mychildatschool.com on a web browser.

You can change or reset your password at any time by clicking on Forgot Password.

 Key Features of MCAS

When you log in, you will first see the My Child central dashboard which contains the following features: 

  • Settings button – Account Settings, Privacy and Security, Financial Payment Methods, Financial Order History, and School Contact Information. 
  • Student account dropdown – if you have more than one child in the school you can switch between children.
  • Weekly calendar with Attendance information by day. 
  • You will have access to the following  modules:
    • Attendance
    • Achievement and Behaviour
    • Timetables.

Attendance and Timetables 

Clicking on a date in the calendar, users can see the student’s attendance information by day and lesson. Clicking on the arrows will display the previous or next day. 

Achievement and Behaviour

Clicking on the Reward and Conduct module will detail any positive and negative behaviour that has been given. 

Clicking on > will give further details about the behaviour event

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I access MCAS

You will be sent a password reset link to your registered email address. Please follow the instructions in the email to reset your password.  Please note this must be greater than 8 characters and include the following:

  • 1 uppercase character
  • 1 lowercase character
  • 1 special character (e.g. ! ? @)
  • 1 number
  • What is the School ID

The Cottesloe School’s School ID is 15566.   If you have children at other schools with MCAS, the school ID and username will be different.

I can only see one of my children on MCAS

If you have more than one child attending The Cottesloe School, you should be able to see them both in MCAS.  If this is not the case, then your details may not be set up correctly.  Please contact office@cottesloe.bucks.sch.uk who will investigate this for you.

Can I see my child at another school

With your login details for The Cottesloe School you can only see your children at this school.

If you have other children at other schools that use Bromcom, the other school will send you a different school ID and username for that school.

You can switch quickly between schools using the MCAS app.

Something is incorrect on MCAS

MCAS instantly reflects the information recorded in our school management system.  Please contact office@cottesloe.bucks.sch.uk and we will happily investigate and correct any incorrect information if required.
