Year 7

The students in Year 7 will follow the Pearson Second edition Core programme.  The students are currently taught in ability groups, set using their Key Stage 2 scaled scores.  A workbook that accompanies the course is purchased by parents to enable support at home.  Parents can find the content outlined in these workbooks.  Every student will cover 10 units, and these are tested after each unit and in an End of Year exam.  The workbooks provide support for this in the check-up, strengthen and extend sections at the end of each unit.  To help students prepare thoroughly for their end of unit tests, there is also one to complete after each unit in this workbook.  Teachers will also provide support materials and depth materials to enable students to fulfil their potential depending upon the ability of individual students.

Year 8

The students in Year 8 will follow the Pearson Active Learn Core programme.  The students are currently taught in groups, set using their previous years' attainment data.  The class teacher will provide support and depth materials on an individual basis.

A workbook for the course is purchased by parents to enable support at home.  Parents can find the content outlined in these workbooks.  Every student will cover 10 units, and these are tested after each unit and in an End of Year exam.  The workbooks provide support for this in the check-up, strengthen and extend sections at the end of each unit.  To help students prepare thoroughly for their end of unit tests, there is also one to complete after each unit in this workbook.
