Cottesloe Alumni

If you are a former student of The Cottesloe School and would like to reconnect with us and share some advice for our current and prospective students, please complete our sign-up form https://bit.ly/CottesloeAlumni

It is important for our young people to have positive role models that can act as guides and inspirations for them during their school life.

We are building an alumni network that will allow us to connect with former students and celebrate their success and achievements since leaving school. By sharing their stories and advice, we hope to inspire the next generation of students to raise their aspirations and enable them to see the exciting opportunities available to them post-16.

We look forward to hearing from our Cottesloe alumni!

Teacher Training Opportunities with Astra SCITT

The Cottesloe School is proud to be in partnership with the Astra School Centred Initial Teacher (link) Training provider (SCITT), an innovative, Ofsted Outstanding and non-profit organisation which provides outstanding training opportunities for new entrants into the teaching profession.

We would welcome your help to reach as many potential new Primary and Secondary teachers as possible, including yourselves! By using communication channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Threads and Linkedin, we want to engage with the widest audience possible and keep potential trainees up-to-date on opportunities to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and an optional Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) following their degrees.

If you are interested in a career in teaching, we would love to hear from you. We are currently recruiting trainees in the following subjects/phases across over 50 local selective, non-selective, Primary and Special Schools for 2023/24:

  • Art
  • Biology
  • Business Studies
  • Chemistry
  • Computer Science
  • Design and Technology
  • Drama
  • English
  • Geography
  • History
  • Maths
  • Modern Foreign Languages
  • Music
  • PE
  • Physics
  • RE
  • Primary with Maths

More information can be found on the DfE train to teach portal (link), and applications can be made via UCAS (link), open to all current third-year university students, as well as those who have already achieved their degrees.

Please see if you qualify for a generous bursary (link) to train! However, if a fun, rewarding and fulfilling career in teaching is simply not for you, then you can still support us, and help support the education of the next generation of our students.

We want to buck the trend, suggested by the latest figures on Teacher Trainee Recruitment, which predicts a shortfall in teachers for next September. To help raise our profile, or to find out more, simply follow us on  FacebookInstagramLinkedIn and Threads channels to help us reach as many potential teachers as possible!
