Staff Testimonials

"The Cottesloe School is a very special place to work – one in which I immediately felt at home and which I have not left for twenty-eight years.

It is very much a community – with staff, students and stakeholders all invested in making it a place of shared learning. Mutual respect is also something that this school does well and being thanked by students as they leave my lesson still makes my day.

It is not perfect and there are challenges to overcome but, being a community, there is always someone there to give advice and make sure that you are okay.

I feel very privileged to work in this school and, for me, teaching here is not just my job but my passion."

"Working at The Cottesloe School is an absolute pleasure and privilege. When I came to visit the school in 2011 (as a prospective candidate for a job role), I was overwhelmed with the sense of community and warmth that was almost tangible, amongst staff and students. I am continually reminded of this, term after term and year after year! It is a very special place to work."

Support Staff

"I joined the Cottesloe School in September 2015 and have loved working here ever since. This is a school that has an ethos centred around the relationships we build with staff and students, enabling us to help our learners grow alongside us; I have been given amazing opportunities to develop and develop my career with an incredible team of teachers, support staff, leadership and incredible students. Our beautiful countryside setting makes for some spectacular views and helps to make an already special place quite unique. It's a truly wonderful place to work."

Teacher

"I joined The Cottesloe School at the start of my teaching career and have stayed because I have always felt part of the school community. Helping students reach their potential is always rewarding and our shared commitment to fostering student success and creating a supportive learning environment has been one of the key reasons that has kept me here for many years. I am grateful for the supportive culture both from my department and the wider school which has allowed me to develop as a teacher and advance my career. I wouldn't want to teach in any other school."
