Equality and Diversity

A Commitment to Equality and Diversity

Our Vision

At The Cottesloe School, we believe that every student deserves to feel valued, respected and included. Our 6cs and Healthy Relationship explicitly support this. We are committed to creating a learning environment where equality and diversity are celebrated, and where all members of our community can reach their full potential.

Our Mission

Our mission is to:

  • Promote a culture of respect and understanding among all members of the school community.
  • Ensure that all students have equal access to opportunities and resources.
  • Challenge discrimination and prejudice in all its forms.
  • Celebrate the diversity of our student body and staff.

Our Approach

We believe that equality and diversity should be embedded in everything we do. To achieve this, we have implemented a number of initiatives, including:

  • Inclusive Curriculum: We ensure that our curriculum reflects the diverse experiences and perspectives of our students.
  • Equality and Diversity Training: All staff members receive regular training on equality and diversity issues.
  • Student Leadership: We encourage students to take on leadership roles and advocate for equality and diversity.
  • Support for Vulnerable Students: We provide targeted support for students who may be at risk of discrimination or exclusion.
  • Celebrating Diversity: We celebrate diversity through events, activities, and initiatives throughout the year.

Our Policies

Our school is committed to adhering to all relevant equality and diversity legislation. We have in place a number of policies to ensure that our commitment is reflected in our practices:

  • Equality and Diversity Policy
  • Anti-Bullying Policy
  • Behaviour Policy
  • Admissions Policy
