Future of Cottesloe

The construction of new state-of-the-art facilities, additional classrooms and a new block of toilets. There has been some internal remodelling to improve our Sixth Form experience, created a new Science laboratory and refurbished an existing toilet block. The expansion will accommodate the increasing demand for secondary education in the region and enhance the learning environment for students and staff.

Headteacher Simon Jones expressed his excitement about the approved expansion, stating, "The additional facilities will enable us to continue to improve the school by enriching the learning experience for our students."

Construction completion is expected in November 2024. The project was carried out with careful consideration for environmental sustainability and in close collaboration with local stakeholders to minimise disruption to the surrounding area.

This development will have a positive impact on the educational opportunities available to students and the wider community.

3G Pitch

We are delighted to announce that The Cottesloe School has partnered with the Berks and Bucks FA to develop a state-of-the-art 3G pitch on our school grounds. This exciting project will provide our students with a world-class facility for sports and physical activity, as well as a valuable resource for the wider community. The plans have been submitted and we will soon hear whether these have been approved.

The 3G pitch will be a significant investment in the future of our school and will support key groups to improve access and equality and diversity. It will offer numerous benefits, including:

  • Enhanced sports facilities: The pitch will provide a high-quality surface for a variety of sports, including football, hockey, and rugby.
  • Increased participation: The new facility will encourage more students to participate in sports and physical activity, leading to improved health and well-being.
  • Community engagement: The pitch will be available for use by local clubs and organisations, fostering a sense of community and providing opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy sports for people of all ages, minorities and diversity.
  • Improved academic performance: Studies have shown that participation in sports can have a positive impact on academic achievement.

We are excited to work with the Berks and Bucks FA to hopefully bring this project to fruition. We believe that the 3G pitch will be a valuable asset to our school and the community for many years to come.
