On Wednesday 3rd May I took five of our students to RAF Halton for the semi-final of the Bloodhound Project 'Race to the Line' competition. The two teams were part of only 140 national teams from 25000, to make it to this stage. All five represented the school well, creating two very competitive cars in timed conditions. Sadly they were beaten in the race, but all of them have vowed to go back and try again next year, having gained some good ideas from the Bloodhound team on how to improve.
I would like to congratulate the following students for being such good ambassadors for the school and putting in an excellent effort to get past so many other teams to reach the semi-final: Sam Pearce, Will Clark, Kassim Hussain, Bartosz Trukawka and Matty Marszalek.
As semi-finalists the teams have ensured that when the Bloodhound car travels at 1000mph, next year, its tail art will include the Cottesloe School name, which I think is still quite an achievement. Remember to look out for it if you ever see it in a museum in the future!
